After breakfast at Hotel, continue to sightseeing, Tiger Hill : The highest point in Darjeeling. On a clear day, the place offers a picturesque view of Mount Kanchenjunga and even Mount Everest. The place is a sight to behold, especially during the sunrise. Watching the sun gliding over the horizon and creating a kaleidoscope of colors that light up the entire sky and Mount Kanchenjunga is breathtaking.
Batasia Loop : Located on the Hill Cart Road, Batasia Loop is known for offering an expansive view of the Eastern Himalayas including the majestic Mount Kanchenjunga. At Batasia Loop, the toy train takes a full circle and one can see the view of lush green mountains along with the Gorkha War Memorial. The entire area is actually a well-manicured garden, covered with seasonal and perennial flowers and shrubs.
Ghoom Monastery:
One of the oldest monasteries of Darjeeling, Ghoom Monastery or Yiga Choeling Monastery is famous for its 15 feet high statue of the Maitreya Buddha which is believed to be the Buddha of the future. The two oil lamps placed in front of the statue burn all the time and throughout the year.
Peace Pagoda : Located atop the Charlemont Hill, Japanese Peace Pagoda is a sacred symbol of harmony and brotherhood. It was built under the supervision of Nichidatsu Fujii and is open for people from all walks of life. A perfect example of Japanese architectural style, the temple is decorated with sandstone carvings, depicting stories from different chapters of Gautam Buddha’s life.
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute ; built with a purpose to encourage mountaineering as an organized sport in India. The highlight of the institute is the mountaineering museum. Paintings, artifacts, models, and equipment are some of the exhibits in the museum.
Himalayan Zoological park : Covering an area of 205 hectares, Himalayan Zoological Park preserves and nurtures the amazing wildlife of Gangtok. Situated at an altitude of 1,780 meters, the park also offers mesmeric views of Mount Kanchenjunga. Explore this incredible habitat of animals like Himalayan Red Panda, Snow Leopard Cat, Himalayan Black Bear, Crimson-Horned Pheasant, Himalayan Palm Civet along with other species of flora and fauna.
